I WATCHED the postmatch interviews with Steve Borthwick and Ellis Genge after last week’s defeat to France and I have a great deal of sympathy for both players and staff. They have been given a poison chalice.
You can’t build a team without cohesion. There is a reason why successful national sides are built round players from a particular club – Saracens, Leinster etc – and it’s because of the level of cohesion that already exists.
We can all identify good players that Eddie Jones dismissed after just one poor performance.
