THE RFU’s ill-conceived law trial banning tackles above the waist again highlights the failure of rugby’s administrators to end the injuries crisis threatening the game’s future.
This is reflected in World Rugby chief executive Alan Gilpin’s deluded statement: “Rugby will never stand still when it comes to player welfare and this is a prime example of the sport, once again, putting our words into action.”
