Good teaching and good coaching, backed by ample facilities, is hugely beneficial. Of course. (And I’m not saying that just because I was a Head of Department at Rugby School). Nevertheless, it can insulate or inhibit, to some extent at least. And it doesn’t always engender independence.
The fact is boys and girls don’t leave school as the finished artical. So if Eddie wants his players to add more strings to their bows, more power to him.
