CAN someone explain why in a game last Saturday, that a deliberate knock-on, a no-arms tackle and a player entering from the side and collapsing a maul close to the line resulted in only two penalties and no yellow cards?
Yet in other games similar offences led to cards and a penalty try. Is it inconsistency, incompetence or (unconscious) bias?
Quite how a BT Sport pundit (and former England captain) can suggest that Owen Farrell should not be yellow-carded because he had been out for four months and is England captain beggars belief.
