Refs must blow for unsporting gestures

IN last week’s paper, Jeff Probyn congratulated Luke Pearce for penalising Saracens for their back-chat.
I do wish that referees would punish the same team for their gamesmanship which has been apparent for several seasons.
I refer to their overcelebration of winning penalties, shouting in the faces of opponents, patting backs, ruffling hair, etc. This is clearly designed to provoke an over-reaction – Byron McGuigan of Sale duly obliged recently. This behaviour is a blight on the game and should result in the reversal of penalties.
