Agreeing to Prem divorce amounts to rugby treason

I COULDN’T agree more with Ian Stein’s letter of last week regarding Exeter chairman Tony Rowe.
So Mr Rowe now wants help for the Championship clubs. His remarks illustrate perfectly the hold that the Premiership shareholders and CVC have over the RFU.
The ‘Prem 13’ want to consolidate and protect their positions, their partner investors, their TV money and their financial futures.
The shareholders’ ring-fence or divorce from the 1,400 community clubs who nurture and supply most of their players will achieve their shortterm aims and underlines the RFU...
