PREMIERSHIP clubs have created the perfect scam at the expense of the rest of England’s clubs.
Until the early 1990s, players such as Preston Grasshoppers’ Wade Dooley and Fylde’s Bill Beaumont could play for England without leaving their ‘grassroots’ clubs – thanks to a well-formatted County Cup.
