Sharks beat two yellows and the Lions

RAINBOW CUP ROUND-UP

THE SHARKS made it two wins from two in the Rainbow Cup SA with a 34-26 win over a wasteful Lions side.
Yellow cards to Thomas du Toit and Fezokuhle Mbatha shortly after halftime for infringements at the ruck had reduced the Sharks to 13 men to leave their 24-12 lead vulnerable, but the Lions were left to rue their inability to capitalise.
Jeremy Ward scored the Sharks’ first try in only the third minute to give the hosts the lead, with PJ Botha responding for the Lions as both teams’ mauls caused problems.
