ALONG with thousands of others I am sure, my excitement levels were through the roof as the countdown to the first window of ticket sales for the France World Cup in 2023 approached.
A day off work seemed like a small price to pay to join the online queue at the right time.
However, my enthusiasm steadily diminished over the next eight hours as the ticket website repeatedly struggled under the strain with no tickets forthcoming.
The consensus on social media was that the website was not fit for purpose and it got even worse during the second window three days later.
