LAST week’s interview with Sid Sutton, the new CEO of Sale, certainly raised a few hackles within the grassroots of the game with his statement.
He thinks that overall the financial wellbeing of the professional clubs trumps everything because if the game is not financially stable there won’t be a game.
Although he is probably right, he should have said professional game, as the grassroots game is far less dependant on financial grants than the Premiership. The thing is, it would be fairly easy for the game to become financially stable if all were to agree some simple basic...
