We pay for action, not endless resets

AS a long-term fan and spectator, games are often spoiled by weak refereeing.
The laws of the game already give officials sufficient power to ensure that set scrums are not reset over and over again. The front rows must be stable and still when the ball is fed and then the push by both sides must be in a forward direction also not allowing upwards or downwards pressure to be applied.
Front rows do slip and adjudging whether an offence or a slip has taken place is hard to do – but players do seem to be taking advantage of refs’ lack of spine in this scenario.
