READING about the infamous Andy Haden ‘dive’ in Peter Jackson’s column took me back in time to when I really learnt what rugby meant to the Welsh people.
As a school student in Cornwall I wanted to play rugby and go to university, in that order. My choice of institution was only based on where I could get the best rugby education and in 1975 the obvious choice was Swansea.
I was involved with the university rugby club and in 1978 I found myself in the old south stand at Cardiff almost level with the fateful lineout.
