Teak tough: Mike Teague
CHRIS Hewett (TRP 19/4/20) was quite right to rail against the omission of Mike Teague from Brendan Gallagher’s list of rugby’s hard men.
Outstanding in a club and country shirt, Teague was man of the series in the Lions 1989 win over Australia, his physicality and bruising ball-carrying ability turning round the Lions’ fortunes.
Gallagher then, in his article on “rugby’s greatest upsets”, compounds his crime by not mentioning the Cherry & Whites’ famous win at Old Deer Park in March 1972 in the John Player Cup quarter...
