RFU relief amounts to not much

THE RFU have promised a package of £7m to help clubs during the lockdown, but there is precious little detail of how much support each of England’s 2000 community clubs can expect.
The maths suggests £3,500 per club, but many clubs believe that once they work through the red tape put in place by the governing body it will be no more than £200.
Judging by the RFU’s treatment of Peterborough in Midlands 1 East, supporting community clubs is not at the top of their agenda.
