I THOROUGHLY enjoyed Brendan Gallagher’s piece about wasted talents, especially about David Bishop.
I followed the All Whites during the 80s and witnessed several defeats to the rugby machine that was Pontypool RFC.
At the heart of that machine was the most naturally gifted rugby player I ever saw, David Bishop – The Bish.
To claim, as his detractors did, that he was a onetrick pony playing well because of the dominant pack in front of him was grossly unfair to a massively talented player who never received the credit he was due.
