IN THE wake of RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney’s announcement to slash funding to the Championship and across the 2000+ clubs of the Community game, I wonder if he’s looked back to RFU Council minutes from earlier last year?
RFU Council members refused to accept proposed cuts to their personal expenses budget i.e. trips to Paris and Rome in this Six Nations championship, as well as Twickenham hospitality.
Council voted against such austerity and agreed to make a six per cent cut to their expenses.
I wonder if those Council members still appear regularly at the clubs they repres...
