THE outrageous decision by the RFU to cut funding of the Championship by 50 per cent from next season is a huge blow to Coventry RFC and all of the other clubs in the division.
It has confirmed what I have long thought, which is that all the RFU really cares about is money, the national team and the Premiership - and all of the other clubs in the country can forget about it.
From Coventry’s perspective, the RFU’s swingeing cut means that plans to expand the Butts Park Arena will most likely now have to go on the backburner and the hugely valuable community work done by the club ...
