Spare a thought for National League clubs

DID the Championship clubs really not see the RFU funding cuts coming, as all the “shock, horror” reactions would suggest? The simple fact of the matter is that, while the RFU’s huge contractual commitments under the PGA continue, and additional sources of extra income prove elusive, Twickenham has insufficient money to fund the needs of community clubs, while maintaining current levels of subsidy to sustain full time professional rugby in the Championship.
