Hill was right – there are too many games

YOUR interview with Steve Hill, latterly of Sidcup, Oxford Univ and now Richmond, was a well-reasoned plea to keep our great game on an even keel.
A normal season was from September to March, say approximately 28 games, allowing for weather and holiday interruptions, add in a few cup games, and 32/34 games was quite enough.
I agree the clock cannot be turned back, and the pro class is here to stay, but unless the RFU get on the case about too many games, there won’t be anybody playing rugby outside the professional sphere.
