In TRP’s letters Oct 20, Cornwall RFU’s Chris Lea describes the absurd timing for this season’s Bill Beaumont Cup, with the final a month after the Pool stage ends, two months after club leagues finish, and around a week before many clubs begin pre-season.
To add insult, the final has been reduced to acting as no more than a curtain-raiser for the England v Barbarians match.
