I HAVE been increasingly upset at the constant advice being given to players at the Rugby World Cup.
I believe that remarks such as ‘stay, no, yes, release, keep onside, roll away’ etc etc are all distracting, confusing, worrying, and upsetting to the players.
All these players in the World Cup are professionals and should have a very good grasp of the laws. The referee should clearly blow the whistle, clearly state the offence and finally clearly state the penalty for the offence.
For example ‘knock on red No.8, scrum down blue ball’. Or ‘poor tackle No.6. No ...
