SO the Premiership clubs are going to ride a wave of growing support to break out into sunlit uplands, where they will dominate our game directly, rather than via the stranglehold they have over RFU funding.
This seems to be Colin Boag’s view in last week’s Rugby Paper, based, it seems to me on very little evidence. Of course his club’s results mean more to him than England’s – the connection to a local side, playing every week is always going to be closer – even as a paying supporter, let alone as a volunteer official in a proper, local club!
