NOW that referees routinely ignore the laws of the game, the scrum and line-out have just become a mechanism for restarting the game and, frankly, a joke.
There is now no need at all for big forwards, or arguably any forwards at all, they only get in the way and stop the flow of the game.
The game is changing in front of our eyes; the TV executives love it as there will be a huge number of points scored – and they call it “entertainment”.
I suppose we just have to get used to it and pretend that this is a game we once called Rugby Union… trouble is we all know it is...
