HAVINGread Nick Cain’s piece picking at Steve Lansdown last Sunday, I can’t help but object to his ridiculous argument about why Mr Lansdown has not suggested ringfencing in football.
The difference being clear that of course the footballing Championship contains clubs capable of making the leap and surviving.
I challenge Mr Cain to produce one of the Championship crop outside London Irish who would not plummet straight back out of the league and possibly out of existence.
Let us not forget that Exeter’s success was achieved in a very different era.
