THE letter from John Allanson of Bishop’s Stortford RFC has caused me to write in about the perilous state of grass roots rugby.
If a well run local club like Stortford are noticing the pinch, then the rest of us will soon if not already. John is correct when he says the vast majority of clubs below Tier 6 are run on a shoe string budget and solely by aging volunteers.
