ARE the Barbarians even remotely considered to be an English club anymore?
There were 13 South Africans in yesterday’s squad to face Argentina – and not one from the Home Unions. I understand the reasons why in recent years the Barbarians have been more a Southern Hemisphere team/club, than English or even British. With the ludicrous amount of money the Premiership clubs ask for player release, it’s far cheaper for them to pay long haul air fares for players.
