Correct decision to letter of the law but still harsh on Tigers

THE RED card shown to Will Spencer, the Leicester Tigers lock, was predictably given prominence in the following morning’s sports pages.
Correct decision? By the letter of the law – yes. Harsh? Probably – the Wasps coach felt that a yellow card was sufficient. How much did the TMO influence the referee’s final decision? Debatable. Game changing? Probably not, though the second half was a cracker.
