I READ with interest in the July 22 edition that Old Elthamians are putting in place a plan to challenge for the topflight. I hope they succeed but they must beware other famous clubs who tried and failed to mix it with the big financial muscle the Premiership can boast.
Clearly reaching the Premiership is their ultimate goal but in the short term having a team from Kent in the Championship would be good enough.
