REFEREES should adopt a new policy – if in doubt, check it out.
I refer to the use/or non use of the TMO for the Challenge Cup final between Cardiff and Gloucester last week. It is now time for the RFU to use the TMO whenever there is the slightest doubt over a refereeing decision.
It was needed in the early part of the game when the ‘iffy’ try scored by Lewis Ludow was disallowed – an examination by the TMO would have answered any doubt, one way or the other.
