I MUST strongly disagree with Mr. Boag’s comments on scrapping relegation in last week’s paper.
In recent times crowds have in general increased at Premiership level year on year, but take away relegation and at least 50 per cent of matches this time of year become meaningless. I feel spectators would stay away in large numbers rather than spend money on tickets to watch friendlies of no consequence.
One only has to look at attendances in the PRO14 for confirmation of this.
