Top-flight coaches need to branch out

IAN Davies bemoans the recent ‘farcical’ appointments of Alan Gaffney and Alan Solomons while claiming that coaches in the Championship should be considered for these Premiership director of rugby positions.
Surely it should be the case that coaches such as Ali Hepher, Rob Hunter and Alex Sanderson should be itching to take on a DoR role in the Premiership rather than being simply part of the coaching staff at their current clubs, no matter how successful they may currently be.
