THE Six Nations could be adapted every four years into a proper European Championship to find a way forward for the aspiring nations.
Once every four years the tournament could be expanded to include the top teams from the European Nations Cup.
Also in the intervening years, Six Nations teams – or perhaps the Saxons and their like – could tour a tier two country in the June window safe in the knowledge that there will be a cash cow coming in the autumn internationals.
