Fall in player numbers

A BBC documentary has uncovered worrying participation trends in Welsh rugby, revealing a drop off at both youth and senior level.
The documentary by BBC Wales, Welsh Rugby – Keeping the Faith, found a drop in the number of schools in the country playing rugby with the number of players leaving to pursue academic and rugby careers in England turning “from a trickle to a flood”.
Every secondary school in Wales and every club in the Cardiff region was invited to take part in the survey.
