THE quango-like blindness to accountability in the top echelon of this RFU administration, and their erosion and disregard the democratic conventions embedded in the RFU constitution as a members’ co-operative, were on show this week in the actions of Rob Udwin.
Part of Udwin’s role as RFU president – a year-long office as titular figurehead – is to stay out of the internal politics of the English game, in much the same way as our constitutional monarch does not interfere in the government of the UK.
