Saracens’ £22.9m loan brings concern

TO ADD to Saracens’ week of financial pressure, their £22.9m loan from Barnet Council to expand their Allianz Park ground was under scrutiny by councillors.
They wanted to know if the club were relegated or severely hampered financially whether they would be able to finance the yearly interest of six per cent payable over the next 30 years.
Owner Nigel Wray may be worth some £315m but there were worries he might walk away amid the controversy, leaving the cub to forage on.
