Ex-RFU boss raps ‘remote’ Union

MARTYN Thomas, former chairman of the RFU, has criticised the Union for a lack of openness and accountability.
Thomas says that the RFU AGM, which was held last Friday evening in London, showed the-Union’s growing remoteness from the clubs it represents, with few of the 1,500 member clubs attending.
He said: “During my time as chairman because of the difficulties of Friday night travel I insisted that the AGM was held over the weekend, preferably a Sunday, so that club members could attend.
