PHIL LARDER is surprised at the wholesale changes to Eddie Jones’ coaching team so soon before a World Cup.
Larder, the man who masterminded England’s iron-clad defence at the World Cup in 2003, is particularly surprised by the appointment of John Mitchell as Paul Gustard’s successor in defence.
“I think Eddie is a fantastic coach and is someone I respect massively. But I’m not sure in my mind why there have been so many changes in his staff,” Larder told The Rugby Paper.
