THE RFU are under threat of rebellion from a group of former grandees dismayed by the current bout of cost-cutting and the Union’s financial affairs.
Clubs are being sounded out to garner enough votes to force a Special General Meeting to hold the management board to account.
One former RFU council member told The Rugby Paper: “We are gathering opinion and if we get the 100 club votes we need for an SGM the aim would be to vote out the management board and start again. In fact, in the current circumstances I am surprised they haven’t resigned.”
