FORMER Cornish Pirates director of rugby Ian Davies has branded the RFU’s coaching pathway a “farce” following the appointment of veterans Alan Solomons and Alan Gaffney to top jobs at Worcester and Northampton.
South African Solomons, 67, and 71-year-old Aussie Gaffney have been parachuted in ahead of other qualified home-grown candidates – wrongly according to Davies, who believes the RFU must do more to encourage their own people.
