A TOTAL of 44 tries were scored in yesterday’s Round One of the Aviva Premiership – a record for the opening weekend with the Leicester- Bath match to come today.
Twenty of those tries came at sunkissed Twickenham where the London Doubleheader saw a total of 147 points. The previous best opening weekend try tally was 36 in 2007.
Fifty tries in any round has only been reached five times.
