Farrell lays Test claim as stuttering Lions misfire

WARREN GATLAND praised Owen Farrell after the fly-half put down an early marker for the Lions Test jersey by helping the tourists to a 13-7 victory in their opening fixture against the New Zealand Provincial Barbarians.
The England star dug the tourists out of a tight spot after replacing his out-ofsorts Irish rival Johnny Sexton early in the secondhalf, almost instantly putting Anthony Watson over for the try which won the match against a team of Kiwi semi-pros.
