ENGLAND U17s fell to a six-try 47-26 against their French counterparts yesterday.
They trailed 22-19 at the break in Gueugnon, scoring tries through JJ Tonks, Ollie Lawrence and Tom Furnival.
Tonks powered over from Tom Marshall’s pass while Lawrence scored direct from Kieran Wilkinson’s restart and just before the break, Furnival barrelled over in the corner.
France proved too strong in the second period scoring 18 unanswered points, before Tom Fawcett seared through. The hosts had their sixth try late on though to seal the victory.
