Ulster winger Tommy Bowe is to undergo surgery “later this week” following the knee injury he suffered in the closing stages of the game against Northampton yesterday.
A scan this morning revealed the Irish star sustained “significant lateral ligament damage on his right knee” but Ulster are unable to comment on the length of the recovery.
With the British and Irish Lions tour six months away, the winger will face a race against time to recover in time as an injury of this type usually requires between four and six month on the sidelines.
