Whatever conflicting views there are over the appointment of Johnny Sexton to the 2025 Lions coaching team announced on Thursday, the conversation between head coach Andy Farrell and the former Lions and Ireland fly-half has happened, and the decision has been made.
As for Sexton’s acceptance, there are not many who would turn round to a Lions head coach and say, “no, I’m not ready”.
