Richard Wigglesworth delight as he joins British and Irish Lions team

Richard Wigglesworth’s meteoric rise to the top of the coaching ladder may have surprised some but it is all part of the former scrum-half’s masterplan.
The 41-year-old only retired from playing in late 2020, taking over at Leicester when Steve Borthwick went to England, but on Wednesday was confirmed as an assistant coach for the Lions trip to Australia.
Wigglesworth left Leicester to hook up with Borthwick’s England ahead of the 2023 World Cup as attack coach and is now the senior assistant in the set-up.
