COLCHESTER stalwart Danny Whiteman made his 300th first-team appearance last weekend for his hometown club.
It was a special day for the back row and captain, with a series of presentations taking place after the match.
However, Whiteman’s dream day was denied as Colchester were defeated by fellow newly promoted outfit, Oxford Harlequins, to all but condemn the Essex side, who have picked up just one win this term, to relegation back down to the fifth tier.
