Bill Beaumont has a duty to advise Bill Sweeney that his tenure as RFU chief executive is over, rather than face a vote to remove him at an SGM which has been convened for March 27.
Having accepted the role of RFU interim chairman, it is incumbent on Beaumont to acknowledge that, despite Sweeney’s best efforts to talk his way into remaining in post on a podcast and at a press conference this week, he has only succeeded in making the hole in which he stands much deeper.
