Last Wednesday, Fabien Galthie named six uncapped players in his 42-strong list for the first match of the senior men’s Six Nations tournament against Wales at Stade de France a week on Friday.
Only one of the six could be classed as a surprise – though the press had been briefed beforehand: 20-year-old centre Noah Nene, on loan at ProD2 side Dax from Stade Francais this season, has impressed enough to earn a call despite featuring in only 15 senior matches, eight as a starter.
