The employment of the crisis management company, Teneo, by the incumbent RFU administration to help it weather the SGM storm is a scandal – especially as Twickenham already boasts an extensive, and expensive, communications department.
The idea that using Teneo, who bill up to £5,000 a day, and are a company in which CVC – the RFU’s Six Nations broadcast co-partners, are majority shareholders – to bail-out RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney and his team from a mess of their own making, is acceptable, beggars belief.
