When Frank Wilson nearly downed the All Blacks

Twice on the same misty December afternoon long ago, Frank Wilson went close to doing what no Welsh wing had done – scoring a winning try on debut against the All Blacks.
The one he did get, for Cardiff & The Rest assembled under the banner of East Wales in 1967, was enough to earn a 3-3 draw in front of 40,000 at the Arms Park.
With Brian Lo-chore’s tourists holding on for dear life, Wilson touched down for what appeared to be a late winner only for the try to be ruled off-side.
